Neches River Rendezvous

The Neches River Rendezvous is a fun and family-friendly 10-mile paddling adventure down the Neches River.  

The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce first held the Rendezvous in 1997, and it quickly became a popular annual event, with up to 300 people participating, however, due to Covid-19, weather conditions, and supply chain issues, the event has not been held since 2018.  ANRA, a long-time sponsor of the Rendezvous, was approached by the Chamber in 2022, about taking over the event and in May 2023, all rights to the Neches River Rendezvous were legally transferred from the Chamber to the Authority.  

Although the event was scheduled to take place in 2024, due to the record-breaking rain totals and unsafe river conditions last year, the Rendezvous was cancelled.

In 2025, ANRA successfully held the Rendezvous for the first time, with more than 100 volunteers and about 150 paddlers participating in the event.

The 2026 Rendezvous will be held on Saturday, May 30th.
