Laboratory Information

The Environmental Laboratory’s operations include the chemical and microbiological analyses of drinking water, wastewater, and surface water. The laboratory performs approximately 1,000 analyses per month on samples for municipal and industrial wastewater, lake and stream water quality, and public and private drinking water for numerous municipalities, industries, state and federal agencies, water supply districts, and private individuals.

The laboratory strives to produce scientifically valid and defensible data, to more than 150 routine clients and private individuals throughout the East and Deep East Texas areas in a timely and efficient manner.

The laboratory also provides analytical services and project support for the Authority’s programs, including the Texas Clean Rivers Program, On-Site Sewage Facilities Program, along with the Authority’s family of utilities, including the Neches Compost Facility, Angelina County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1, North Angelina County Regional Wastewater Facility, Holmwood Utilities, and Prairie Grove Utilities.

Testing & Pricing

The laboratory currently performs several different types of analyses in-house and is able to subcontract to other laboratories for additional analyses.

Certifications

The laboratory complies with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) Institute (TNI), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The laboratory is a participant and in good standing with TNI proficiency testing and the EPA Discharge Monitoring Report Quality Assurance studies.

The laboratory is NELAP-accredited by the State of Texas (through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) to perform chemical and microbiological analyses of surface water, wastewater, and drinking water samples.
