About Central Heights Utilities

The Authority owns and operates Central Heights Utilities, a retail water utility located north of the City of Nacogdoches. Ownership of CHU was transferred from the City of Nacogdoches to the Authority in the fall of 2023.  

Our mission is to provide reliable, quality water service and we are looking forward to getting to know all of our new customers.  We whole-heartedly welcome you to ANRA’s family of utilities.

On Oct 3, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the Central Heights Utilities public water system (PWS ID Number TX1740008) to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. Water Leak & Boil Water Notice Issued for Central Heights Utilities

WATER LEAK & BOIL WATER ADVISORY Friday, October 3 7:00 p.m. Attention Central Heights Utilities: Due to a contractor hitting one of our water lines, there is a major active water leak. ANRA crews are en route to make the repair. The affected area is FM 698 from Highway 259 West to the end of the system. BOIL WATER NOTICE ISSUED for Central Heights Water Customers

October 3, 2025 Due to a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the Central Heights Utilities public water system (PWS ID Number TX1740008) to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
