General Duties:
ANRA is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Communications Director at our Central Office Facility in Lufkin, Texas. This is a management level position that reports to the General Manager. Ideal candidates will exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision, possess organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and correctness, ability to multi-task, positive attitude, ability to work well with others, strong initiative, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
Primary Duties:
- Provide direct marketing and outreach support for ANRA’s ongoing operations, contract participants and program partners
- Coordinate and facilitate opportunities for employee development activities, education and training
- Seek outreach opportunities and events to promote ANRA and its mission. Events may include community festivals, partnerships with local organizations, and public events where ANRA presence would be beneficial
- Coordinate and organize on-the-water events, volunteer trainings, workshops, festivals, cleanups, paddle trips, hikes, and presentations in the community
- Assist with recruiting and coordinating volunteers for ANRA service projects and programs.
- Produce and distribute newsletters, and other regular communications with key stakeholders
- Contribute to developing, managing and promoting the ANRA website and social media
- Write, edit, and proofread feature stories, legislative updates, program highlights, and technical/education pieces
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and op-eds highlighting ANRA initiatives, water industry impacts, and policy issues
- Maintain media contact lists; pitch stories to local and state outlets as needed.
- Monitor engagement, respond to messages/comments, and track basic analytics to grow reach and improve performance
- Budget, schedule, and conduct other administrative and planning duties in relation to ANRA’s events, primarily the Neches River Rendezvous
- Identify and foster partnerships with local schools, neighborhood associations, civic groups, nonprofit and community organizations, local governments, and companies to help improve and expand ANRA’s community outreach efforts and programs
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a communications, marketing, or public affairs role—experience with water quality, natural resources, or rural advocacy is a strong plus
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport with varying audiences and the general public
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated experience managing organizational social media accounts and using scheduling/analytics tools
- Comfortable updating websites using a CMS (e.g., WordPress or similar platform)
- Basic graphic design/layout skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar) for social media graphics and simple print pieces
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects at once (publications, events, day-to-day content)
- Curiosity about water quality, conservation, rural communities, and Texas policy—and a willingness to learn the language of the water quality industry

Position Title: Truck Driver I
Position Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt

ANRA is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Truck Driver I at our Neches Compost Facility located in Jacksonville Texas. This is an entry level position that reports to the Neches Compost Facility Director.
Ideal candidates will exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision, possess organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and correctness, ability to multi-task, positive attitude, ability to work well with others, strong initiative, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
Primary Duties:
• Assist with management of facility operations for collection and transportation of wastewater sludge, laboratory analysis, yard trimmings, grinding, and composting.
• Assist with maintaining biosolids collection and disposal activities in compliance with regulatory agencies stated guidelines.
• Utilize class “A” vehicles to collect Roll-off containers of biosolids for processing at the Facility and deliver finished product to customers as needed.
• Complete Waste Movement Records and any other related correspondence in a timely manner.
• Learn and know the purpose for collection and documentation of all samples collected associated with biosolids collection, transportation and disposal.
• Assist with maintaining ANRA’s equipment and vehicles to prolong the life of the fleet.
Desired Qualifications:
