Holmwood Utilities is now offering an alert notification service to all of its water customers. This service will allow customers to be notified by text message of important information pertaining to the water system. Types of alerts that will be sent using this service include, but are not limited to, boil water notices, scheduled maintenance or repair activities, water conservation notices, and any other situations that might result in interruption of service. Customers can register for this service at no additional cost and it can be canceled at anytime; however, standard cellular message and data rates from your service provider may apply.

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the Holmwood Utilities public water system (PWS ID Number 1210020) to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Holmwood Utilities has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by Holmwood Utilities used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of March 18, 2021.

This interruption of service affects the entire water system. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required Holmwood Utilities (PWS ID Number 1210020) to notify all customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
Water utility crews are on site making repairs to the water main. ANRA estimate repairs to be complete and water service restored by mid-afternoon, Thursday, March 26, 2020. The boil-water notice will remain in effect until water samples have been collected, tested, and indicate there is no harmful bacteria in the water.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from other suitable sources. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
